Boston Beacon Hill Neighborhood Guide
Boston’s historic Beacon Hill neighborhood is one of the oldest communities in the city. The architecture combined with the layout of the area provides an old colonial Boston feel and the narrow streets feature beautiful brick sidewalks and gas lamps.
Attractions & Things to Do
The community is home to the Massachusetts State House and is surrounded by several well known streets, including Beacon Street, Bowdoin Street, Cambridge Street, and Storrow Drive.
You’ll find some great antique shops, eclectic boutiques, a variety of local restaurants, and other businesses on Charles Street. This is the main commercial area and the street runs from Massachusetts General Hospital to the Public Garden.
Next to Beacon Hill is the Boston Common, Public Garden, Esplanade, and Hatch Shell, which provide residents with an array of recreational and cultural opportunities all within walking distance.
